Ingredients:
- 1 package chocolate chip cookies (about 300 g)
- 100 g butter, melted
- 1 package Oreos (about 150 g)
- 500 g cream cheese, softened
- 100 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200 g chocolate chips
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (about 400 ml)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rectangular baking dish with parchment paper. This will prevent the bars from sticking and make it easier to lift them out later.
- Crush the chocolate chip cookies in a food processor until fine crumbs form. Mix the crumbs with melted butter until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared dish to create a solid crust. Ensure the crust is evenly spread and packed down tightly to hold the bars together.
- Arrange a layer of Oreos over the cookie crust. You can either leave them whole for a more defined layer or crush them slightly for a more integrated texture.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. This mixture forms the rich and tangy filling. Pour it evenly over the Oreos, using a spatula to spread it if necessary.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips generously over the cream cheese mixture. The chocolate chips add extra sweetness and a delightful texture contrast.
- Finally, drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the entire dish. This step adds an extra layer of sweetness and helps bind the ingredients together during baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is lightly golden and set. The bars should be slightly firm to the touch with a soft center.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into bars. Cooling is crucial for the bars to set properly and to get clean slices when cutting.
